National Fried Clams Day

Steve's Fried Clam Strips
It’s National Fried Clam Day. Observed every year on July 3rd, fried clams are reminiscent of the New England states.  The original fried clams were created in 1916 by Lawrence Henry “Chubby” Woodman and his wife Bessie as a way to increase sales at their concession stand on Main Street in Essex, Massachusetts.
That year at the Fourth of July Parade, Chubby and Bessie served the first fried clams to the citizens of Essex and people were hooked.  Six generations later, they’re still serving fried clams at Woodman’s.

Celebrate National Fried Clams Day by ordering up Steve’s Fried Clam Strips.
